At LPCH, Pediatric Interventional Radiology (PIR) is supported by strong hospital leadership and a core team of nurses, technologists, and advanced practitioners.  In addition, we also train the next generation of physicians and healthcare providers so they can benefit from the lessons we have learned and the techniques and technologies we have developed; this way we can help to disseminate our knowledge to help all children who need medical care across the country and world. Our team provides essential services that are integrated into the care pathway of children in almost all service lines - As such we offer emergency care (i.e. to the emergency department, neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric intensive care unit), urgent care (i.e. to transplant, hematology-oncology, cardiology and gastroenterology teams), and routine elective care (i.e. to dermatology, neurology, rheumatology, ENT and endocrinology teams).
